Three Pardee Physicians Named Best Doctors in NC

W. Mark McCollough, M.D., William D. Medina, M.D., and James E. Radford, M.D., were recently nominated by their peers as three of the best doctors in North Carolina. The physicians were featured in Business North Carolina’s 2011 Best Doctor list.

Dr. McCollough is board-certified in radiation oncology. Dr. Medina is board-certified in internal medicine and medical oncology. Dr. Radford is board-certified in internal medicine and medical oncology.
Dr. McCollough, a physician with Mountain Radiation Oncology, received his medical degree from the University of Florida College of Medicine in Gainesville, Fla., and completed a residency at the University of Florida Shands Hospital in Gainesville. This is the seventh year he has received this nomination.

Dr. Medina, a physician with Hendersonville Hematology and Oncology at Pardee, received his medical degree from the University of Kentucky College of Medicine in Lexington, Ky., and completed a residency at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, S.C. He completed a fellowship at Yale University in New Haven, Conn. This is the third year he has received this nomination.

Dr. Radford, a physician with Hendersonville Hematology and Oncology at Pardee, serves as the principal investigator for Pardee’s cancer clinical trials program, which currently has more than 52 open studies. He received his medical degree from the University of Michigan Medical School in Ann Arbor, Mich., and completed a residency and fellowship at the University of Iowa in Iowa City, Iowa. This is the seventh year he has received this nomination.

Best Doctors Inc., a Boston, Mass.-based company, surveyed physicians nationwide, asking them to grade other doctors in their specialty area. Those with the highest averages made the final list. A copy of the list is available online at businessnc.com.

As a nationally recognized cancer treatment and research facility, the Comprehensive Cancer Center at Pardee is dedicated to using the latest technology and innovative therapies.  The Cancer Center hosts community education programs, support groups, provides cancer screenings and holistic support and care for patients dealing with cancer and their families.

    MY HUSBAND AND I FULLY AGREE WITH MR. HANDY. DR. CASERIO HAS BEEN TAKING CARE OF US FOR MANY YEARS. WE COULDN’T ASK FOR MORE IN A PHYSICIAN. HE IS AN INTELLIGENT DIAGNOSTICIAN AND QUICKLY GETS YOU ON THE PATH TO BEING WELL AGAIN. WE PUT HIM IN THE SAME CATEGORY AS DRS. MEDINA, RADFORD AND McCULLOUGH. THIS COUNTY IS FORTUNATE TO HAVE HIM.
