Hike to Health Commercial airs this week.

Monday, September 27th, 2010

The Obsidian collective just finished producing the Hike to Health commercial and it is set to run this week. I’ve added it to this post for your viewing enjoyment :)

Commercial Shoot for Hike to Health

Monday, September 20th, 2010

A group of us went hiking today at Chimney Rock to film a commercial for our next Hike to Health to take place on Saturday, Oct. 23at Chimney Rock located at Chimney Rock State Park.  We wanted to give you a behind the scenes sneak peak at a few of the shots you will see in the commercial, and also a look at some of the views you will be able to enjoy if you register for Hike to Health.

Filming the commercial was videographer, Ben, with The Obsidian Collective, located on Main Street in Hendersonville.  We had a few extras join us as the commercial talent, including two furry friends, Bear and Olive.  Talent also included Tiffany, Rick, Rob, Dale, Ester and myself.  Ben filmed our group hiking the Hickory Nut Falls trail at Chimney Rock up to the base of Hickory Nut Falls.

Ben collected enough footage for at least a five minute television ad, but unfortunately our commercial won’t be quite that long.  In the next couple of days, I will go to the Obsidian Collective and record the voice-over for the commercial.  Be sure to check out the blog in the next couple of weeks when we post the commercial, and be sure to watch for our ads on your local television stations and in the newspaper!

Enjoy the photos from the commercial shoot, it was a beautiful morning for a hike.  We hope you will join us for the next Hike to Health on October 23.  Registration opens today!  Call 1-866-790-WELL to register.

2) Hickory Nut Falls Trail – leisurely .75 mile hike to the base of the 404 ft. tall Hickory Nut Falls (one of the highest waterfalls east of the Mississippi River) (1.5 total round trip hike)

3) Four Seasons Trail – moderate to strenuous trail which starts at the meadows parking area and runs all the way to the top of the mountain (with access to Hickory Nut Falls) – Four Seasons Trail alone is .6 miles, once it connects to Hickory Nut Falls Trail this adds on an additional .5 miles, making for a total round trip of approximately 2.2 miles
